The Velo Allegro Cycling Club was founded in 1987 by a group of bicycle racing and fitness enthusiasts. Beginning with just 20 members, this Long Beach-based Club has grown to regularly include over 100 members per year.
Everyone is welcome to Velo Allegro’s various rides (listed below) within the following rules:
Thursday: Whittier Short
Friday: South to Breuggers
Saturday: PCH south, right on Bayside, left on Marguerite, left on San Joaquin Hills to backbay to PCH.
Sunday: Bluebird Canyon
All of the above rides start at 7:30.
We are also thankful for our members who attended this year’s Holiday party and donated a table full of toys for donation to Miller Children’s Hospital. Look for a future email detailing how we’ll give those gifts to the hospital. Members will be encouraged to go with us and tour the hospital and visit with the children. Last year was an experience for those who went that all members should have.
Please mark March 16, 2014 on your calendars for the Annual Velo Allegro St. Patrick’s Day race. It’s going to be better than last year’s successful race.
One of Velo Allegro's mission goals is to benefit the community. As a result, we are taking the fight to cancer through our support of Miller Children's Hospital. Giving back through this important health institution is very rewarding. Over the past few years club members have donated toys and gift cards at our end of year Christmas drives as well as provided financial support in our fundraising efforts through the Tour of Long Beach. As a club we will continue to support Miller Children's Hospital and their mission to fight cancer and improve the lives of so many brave young children and teens.
